Exclusive Interview: Colt Rivers (Sean Cody Model Ryan) Part 1

I’m so excited about today’s topic and I’m more than happy when Colt Rivers (formerly known as Ryan at Sean Cody) agreed to give Queer Me Now this exclusive interview. PART 1

Patrick: I’m dying to know: when you went to work at Sean Cody, who picked the name Ryan for you?

Colt: I actually don’t know what the naming process is but Ryan grew on me quickly. At first I wasn’t very stoked by it, but it stuck.

Patrick: Let’s go all the way back. Tell me about your “when I was just a pup” sexual experiences.

Colt: All of my first sexual experiences were with my straight neighbors. I lived in a suburban neighborhood with lots of the kids the same age, so we grew up together. Puberty hit us right before Internet porn really blew up, so we passed around a bootlegged VHS tape of a straight porn classic. I remember being with my best friend, smoking some weed, and we pressed play. Colt: The more controversial it looks, the more it’s discussed and hotter it is. I love reading the gossip.

Patrick: Did you personally find any difference in the atmosphere due to the models’ sexuality? You strike me as the type who gets going and as long as you are enjoying yourself, nothing else matters.

Colt: I just started working with openly gay performers this month and I can say there isn’t that much of a difference. Working with straight models was natural for me having grown up messing around with straight guy. To be honest, in almost every instance there has been just as much, excitement, if not more, from my straight partners as from the gay ones. Many of them are just doing it for the money, but a good portion is also satiating a strong curiosity. I know a few models that now identify as bisexual, but only post-modeling. What’s amazing about working with gay guys is I’m making great friends that I can go out with now. They also love the kinkier stuff.

Patrick: It’s very rare to hear anything about Sean Cody himself. Did you get to know him well? Tell us one of your favorite stories about him. It can be sweet or gossipy, it’s only me and a few tens of thousands of your fans, who is going to know?

Colt: I only met Sean Cody once and it was a very funny situation. It was 10pm on a late shoot and a light went out. No one in the crew was available to get a replacement, so he drove up in an incredible car, walked in and changed the light bulb himself. He smiled and greeted me by my real name and thanked me for doing such a great job. The light went on and he disappeared back into the shadows. He’s a good-looking guy and seemed incredibly humble.

Patrick: Great story! You filmed over a dozen scenes for the site over the years. Did the familiarity with the crew, the pool, that room with the couch and all the rest make it feel like a second home?

Colt: It’s funny you ask that because it literally became my home away from home. I got so familiar with the mansions we shot in that I had my own little break rooms set up. The hotels where the models stay are very nice, and all transportation is done with car services. They make you feel like a star. I would often land in San Diego and feel I was arriving home. The crewmembers also became my good friends. They all have great senses of humor and incredible camaraderie.

I need familiarity to be comfortable because I have a lot of anxiety, almost having panic attacks filming my first scenes. After the ice was broken and I caught my stride I was more comfortable naked and hard on set then I was around a dinner table. It’s why I’m bad with random hookups. I prefer friends with benefits. Much more trust and security.

Patrick: Let’s do a quick “Ryan” lightning round and then we’ll move on. Ready?

Patrick: Who was your favorite scene partner during your Ryan years and why?
