First, Thank you so much jimyvr who sent me the video of the Tyra Banks Show, Straight Men in Gay Porn episode! The funny thing is, this Tyra’s Gay For Pay episode was aired around the same time another popular Gay For Pay MARK DALTON has been approved for parole.
+ Victor Hoff of MOC Blog did a Tyra-For-Gay-For-Pay: Live Blogging! WOW.
+ Fleshbot posted a video of Aaron James Taking on Tyra Banks and Her Ridiculous Analogies.
+ But the recap of Tyra: Straight Men in Gay Porn I like the most is at Queerty blog, they posted 4 embeddable videos from the highlight moments of the show.
Nervous Kurt Wild
Aaron James explains the financials behind gay-for-pay porn, and how he, uh, “readies” himself for work.
Dean Coxx segment (his girlfriend Courtney is cute though)
Matt Sanchez “This stuff is gonnna come back to get you!” (I didn’t know Matt Sanchez aka porn star Rod Majors was there too)

You know…I watched this…and I have met Aaron before in person…he is just as delicious in person as on camera, but I couldn’t help but be struck with how defensive and clearly how put off he was with the entire thing…a lot of brow wiping and clear anger over being scrutinized.
It was clear from his interview that he was a business man and in it for the money…completely detached! Although he does have a HUGE point…why should anyone care in the realm of porn and fantasy HOW these men choose to identify themselves…although Dean Coxx was the HUGE surprise. straight as can be and totally acting….THAT’S some good acting although anyone who caught his stuff on 2SCM.com already knows this as he could barely keep a boner and whined INCESSENTLY whenever he got fucked. His girl who is quite beautiful said she doesn’t allow him to fuck women but then if memory serves a recent update on his site had him fucking a girl.
The worst part of this was THAT guy from the Advocate magazine…I found his comments to be rather offensive….he eseentially said that interlopers like G4P actors and even straight bartenders/strippers in gay bars are taking advatange of the gay community and acting like offensive parasites…last I checked, gays and lesbians run and often patronize these establishments that use g4p or straight workers so who’s using who? And what is the solution if that’s true….I felt like his whiny comments were going TOO far politically…
I agree with Aaron….who gives a fuck…it’s porn…it’s not changing the world, it’s not affecting anyone or anybody…DEAL!

One of the str8 bartender admits he was ignorant about the gay thing but not anymore (and assuming he now has better understanding).
If being gay-for-pay can change the ignorance on the gays and deteriorating the homophobia, I’m all for it.
ps. glad you like the video

To Nobara Jones:
Finally someone who shares the same views as I have. Thanks for that. I would also add;
Of course Kurt Wild was nervous and defensive. I would have been too if I was presented like a strange animal in a cage.
The problem with Tyra and her audience
is that they’re all moralistic and stuck up with their own hung ups on these guys calling themselves straight. Tyra makes it sound like it’s a bad thing to be gay at the same time declaring the gays love her and right back. It’s all hypocrisy to me. Regardless of sexual orientation, everyone loves porn and damned if you do, somebody’s got to do it. If they say they’re straight, shut up and let it go. It’s none of your business to say whose gay or straight. Just let them be. Just like you want everyone to let you be for being gay.
The Advocate editor guest on the show trying to appear intelligent and lamenting that the gay community doesn’t face the same discrimination that the gay for pay boys do is himself discriminating the boys by saying they take advantage of the gays for the pay. Well hello! It’s a dog eat dog world out there. Everyone is taking advantage of everyone. This is porn. Everyone is being taken advantage for it.
Gay for pay is here to stay. Get used to it. A lot of gays like it too.
So get of your high horse and do the whoring yourself so you could feel what it’s like to be in their shoes.
Take the case of Kurt Wild who was fired from Subway because a customer recognized him and doesn’t want to eat there maybe because he thinks Kurt’s gonna put cum on his sandwich instead of mayonnaise. The fact that the person recognized Kurt in the first place screams hypocrite to me. I mean how would you know if you don’t watch gay porn in the first place. Stupid.
So stop all your hypocrisy and enjoy your porn. At the end of the day, ALL OF US just wants to get off anyway.

I still have a hard time believing Kurt or AJ are straight, but who am I to judge. I did find a bit offensive that they found “gay sex” so difficult or weren’t turned on by the guys. If it’s so bad, then find something else to do. Although it was cute how nervouse Kurt was.

Cris…Amen, brother!
Also…what to make of the fact that Aaron mentioned he pops viagra (need a prescription dude…so who’s plying you with this?)
AND Cris is right about the audience and their high horse…WTF over that STOOPID comment: “I ain’t down with doing something strange for change”. FUCK OFF!!!

To Nobra and Cris. I disagree with both of you. First of all, it is our business what they are and what they do. When you put your business out there for the public it is fair game and therefore anyone’s business. If I tell you something about myself I have just made it your business. Simple enough? Okay, moving on. If you are a man and you have sex with other men, not once, not twice but over and over again, you are NOT straight. Gay 4 Pay is a myth. Even Dean Coxx’s girlfriend said he is bisexual no matter what he believes or tells people. Why is she smarter than most gay people? LOL A lot of gay men want so badly to believe they can turn a straight man gay and that a straight man can be straight and have sex with other men. So silly. I enjoy fantasy myself, but I’m fully aware of reality.
To Nobra, why are you offended by the Advocate Editor? He’s right on point with what he said. Nobra, you don’t think the straight bartenders that work in gay clubs are taking advantage? Of course they are. They want to make more money. Who doesn’t? Gays will tip them more, especially if they’re hot. Next.
To Cris, they do not face the same discrimination as gay people. When they are with their girlfriends nobody is looking at them strange, nobody is calling them a fag, nobody is gay bashing them. You can’t say a person faces the same discrimination unless they are walking in the same shoes.
To Nobra, as far as Dean Coxx having a limp dick at times on SCM.com, so what? He obviously enjoys being in the “company” of other men. He’s not that great of an actor. I think it’s silly of you to think he is straight because he whimpered and whined as he got fucked on SCM.com. You know how many gay men do that? Yeah, if you have never taken dick in your ass before, guess what? It hurts! Once you get more experienced it can be enjoyable. Hey, you ever think for a second maybe he could have been acting? Hell, he said himself he is an actor. Don’t be so gullible. Next.
Aaron James seems sooooo unhappy. Kurt Wild and Dean Coxx laughed at things throughout the show. Aaron barely cracked a smile. He is so defensive. He seems really bitter. He’s obviously got some more deep rooted issues he needs to deal with. As far as him saying he takes Viagra to have sex with men, SO WHAT? A lot of gay porn stars take Viagra. Some even take caverject, which is more extreme. I mean they fuck all the time! And his straight porn comment is silly as well. Watching straight porn to get aroused doesn’t make you straight. A lot of gay and bisexual men like watching straight porn actually. I’m one of them….LOL Next!

I agree with you Cee…I get so sick and tired of gay men who defends so-called straight men performing gay acts on screen and their websites..bottom line, straight men do not have sex with guys period..I know too many of them who couldnt understand how these guys proclaimed to be straight and yet perform not in the privacy of their homes but in the media in order to gain a dollar is so beyond them..my problem is that if straight men can see the analogy..WTF is wrong with Gay men??? Good for u Cee..your points are right on target..

I think the problem with The Advocate Editor is that he only sees things from one side. While it is valid, but isn’t having str8 people working in gay bar or “soaked” in gay environment a way to help them better understand what we are going through and change their bias and stereotypes on us?
Sometimes us gays are so hypocritical like str8 men. Str8 men loves watching girl-on-girl action but having hard time on M2M homosexuality. Gays love watching str8-gay men action but having hard time these str8 men claims they’re not gay?
Aaron James is setting the facts straight with the “I don’t give a fuck what you guys think” with the cocky confidence, that’s what I like about him on the show.
And the drug issues at the end. Hello, while I believe there is a certain link between porn and drugs due to “self-esteem issues” and “piece of yourself getting taken away”, but does one have to be in porn in order to be a drug addict?

Cee…you are absolutely entitled to your opinion. That’s what’s great about this and other forums. A great sounding board.
We’ll agree to disagree…and I don’t find myself to be gullible but prefer to see the world as not so black and white.
As for the Advocate editor, I was offended because he interpreted, as you say, the fact that these men realize and recognize a good financial/business situation as some kind of affront to the very essence of gay and lesbian interpersonal relationships between themselves and heterosexuals.
And your logic about ‘putting oneself out there for public consumption’ making it our (the public) business is the EXACT twisted logic the paparazzi et al inflict on celebrities which results in danger, accidents and even stalkers.
PS I love straight porn and all kinds of porn for that matter.

Thanks much for posting these clips (I was not able to catch the show).
I suppose when I buy or rent a DVD, I couldn’t give a crap about the model’s orientation – so long as the model appears to be enjoying the scene. I’ve watched Kurt W (vs the others) – and enjoy seeing him beg for a pounding. I’m just guessing, but I guess his wife will never be able to give him what he wants as a “gift / present” for bdays and xmas (a strap on just wouldn’t thrust as feverishly as he requires).

For me, it’s clear neither 3 are “straight.” Like Dean Coxx’s girlfriend said, they’re closeted bisexuals. Truly G4P performers have incredibly boring sex scenes (ala Mike Roberts) so it confounds me as to why these performers are continually cast. All they do is lay there and let the gay guy do all of the work; much like having sex with a doll.
I disagree with Kennedy’s comment about bartenders taking advantage of the gay community because they’re flirtatious towards gay guys. A hot bartender is going to flirt with his clientele too, and the majority of them are probably have no chance with him. They both just want more tips, and being nice (and hot) makes it easier for them to get tips.

Oh God you people. Who cares if they’re gay or straight. They’re here for the business and we’re here to enjoy them.
I find it to be bullying to force the guys to admit they’re gay when they’re not ready yet. Let just let them be. Remember when you were in the closet yourselves?
We are now in an era where sexual orientation is no longer the issue because it really doesn’t matter anymore, anyway.
If we could elect a black man as the president of the US, then all other things should be fair game and even the playing field.
To Cee: Yes, the gay for pays experience the same discrimination as everyone else.
Once they’ve entered this world, there’s no turning back. Gay men aren’t always the victim here. In fact, its the gays that does the bashing themselves to these guys not just the straights. And again, nobody has the right to judge anyone who is a public figure just because they are. It is not for the good of oneself to do to others what you don’t want done to you.
Just a healthy reminder of good living.
To Nobara and Lala: thanks again for agreeing with me.

These guys are idiots. Gay For Pay = we should not support their asses. Never mind if you feel THEY are confused. Who cares! Don’t you feel used reading and seeing this???

IMO, Gay for pay is a win-win for everyone.
For gays, it fulfills their fantasy of having sex for str8 men. (unless you don’t have that, John) If we don’t have these fantasies, then it’s ok to blame those str8ies.
For str8s, it fulfills their stomach and at least makes money and get off the street, so the government don’t have to use YOUR tax dollars to support them.
For the gay rights, I would like to think at least (perhaps) 30-35% of these gay-for-pays begin to have the awareness of what we go through each day and being less ignorant and supportive to us

Why is only gay for pay when it’s guys?
There is girl on girl action in straight films all the time and no one says boo about that.
And along those lines, why is it a a bi-sexual porn only when the two guys touch?
Everybody just needs to take a minute and breath…it’s just sex.

I don’t know what is the problem with questioning these performers intentions, and asking what is the driving force behind this phenomenon.
This entire ep. is self promotional for all of the participants and the host. It’s tabloid trash TV at its worst. It really didn’t address these issues appropriately and and ask the above question.
The logical person in me knows that sexual arousal and sexual behavior are two different things. So it is entirely possible for both genders to participate in sexual activities without having to be aroused. So yes, there may be gay for pay in reality.
But as a gay man, I want desperately for people to understand homosexuality is no more unusual than heterosexuality.
It becomes a gripe when you hear the terrible stories of LGBT youths who struggle. The tales of youths subjected to rehabilitation centers to address homosexuality – because after all it is a choice, right? The parents of a friend of my thought so. Under this delusion that it is a choice, they kidnapped my friend and forced him into those centers. He committed suicide a year later after “successfully” achieving heterosexuality.
So gay for pay hits that nerve for me – it reinforces those feelings of shame and the idea that gays are really heterosexuals with psychological issues. This talk show really didn’t help anyone.
That Matt Sanchez is a total tool – after the whole incident about his gay porn past, I took solace in the fact that he would disappear into obscurity. But no, he had to rear his face in public again. If a recall correctly this whole fiasco is his fault, he basically made comments about gays in the military. So of course, when the discovery occurred of his gay porn past, people were going to out him. He is such an opportunist, basically stating for public record that sex on camera wasn’t intimate and therefore doesn’t count – Matt was insistent of his straightness when this conservative media blitz against gays, and protesting the war backfired. This was just another attempt to make the point further.
Why would this guy be on the show?
Nice one Tyra – thanks for looking out for us gays.

Kurt is too much of a bottom to be straight.
Aaron, might be straight – Like I care since he isn’t attractive.(Maybe it explains the whole gay for pay shtick)

I have to agree with you Glen. Gay for pay tells Lesbian and Gay youth that you must have somethign wrong with you and can be “cured”. Sadly, like with your one friend, many find the cure by killing themselves.

An open letter to “Pat Bateman” and other G4P performers:
I would like to state: It’s your prerogative to label yourself whatever you want-gay for pay, straight but curious, bisexual, etc. It’s your right to have casual sex, and live the life you lead as you wish.
But, please remember too, just as you have the right to chose how to lead your life, I have the right to stand up for what I believe.
“… it was the director’s idea to put the magazine there. i thought it was funny/original, and assumed since it was called “falcon straight men” that its subscribers were turned on to the fact that the actors were straight.” (via queerclick)
OK. Point taken, you didn’t request the mag and thought it would be more appealing to the viewers. I will give you the benefit of the doubt on this account.
“If you guys don’t like g4p, then you’re going hate the fact that 9/10 guys on every shoot are straight; but, instead of complaining, why don’t you just not watch the porn.” (via queerclick)
Very true. If you don’t like it – don’t watch it. I might want to encourage people to do so as you’ve indicated.
“if someone out there were putting content out for my benefit–whether he be straight or gay–i’d thank him, and support him rather than bitch.” (via queerclick)
I feel there is a serious cancer growing within the community (the gay one; not yours) so posting my views it an attempt at vetting those issues that are appearing. I’m going to bitch, as you put it, to try and work them out – I have that right, just as you have the right to post or not post. You could even as act you intelligently put it: “if you don’t like it-don’t view it” So you don’t like the postings then don’t read them.
Furthermore, Let’s call a spade a spade – your really not doing anything significant to garner appreciation. Don’t make yourself out to be a martyr. Your having sex on film – not helping starving children in Africa. So if you feeling unappreciated and unliked, you should start to realize soon: your having sex on camera and being paid for it… you better get used to always ruffling feathers the wrong way: either via conservative groups, your family and friends, or your fans (Choice of barebacking/sexual label). You’ve exposed yourself (figuratively speaking) to the public and the subject to it’s criticism. **It’s a luxury to have privacy and the freedom to pursuit your desires without detractors.** It this very same reason why there are millions of gays and lesbians in the closet. I’m trying to change things so those people won’t need to feel this way and proudly come out.
For some people porn is a lifetime career others it’s a brief moment in their lives. **Performers often state, that sex on camera is not the same as in the real world, there is no intimacy and your thoughts are on taking care of business rather than pleasure.** Despite this subtle difference in porn to “actual sex”, you can kind of think Porn is similar to sexuality in how it can play out in peoples lives: some stay gay (lifetime) others move on after losing interest (brief moment). But there is one main difference between the two: porn is a crutch – both for the performer and the viewer. It is a means to an end for the performer and viewer: either by getting cash to pay bills from performing or to get sexual satisfaction that is lacking in the viewers lives. But I don’t think it being a crutch is a negative, and this is NOT the source of my gripes with it unlike other socially conservative people.
I can point the source of my frustration: I tend fool myself into thinking that performers (Both groups of gay and straight films) must have some kind of open free of morality view of sexuality in order to act it out on camera – as such, I would think they would be more open to homosexuality and view it as perfectly natural expression of love. But performers like you remind me otherwise. Just as the straight industry will not award gay films at their AVN’s, the gay porn industry will have G4P.
I understand now, I will never get the affirmation I’d like for my identity. I will have to get used to it just like I have with the rest of society. Kinsey once said that porn is a reflection of both societies desire and it’s ills.(Paraphrasing some degree)
I reiterate you have the right to identify yourself as you wish. Despite our differences, I can sympathize with your experiences of being criticized for just being who you are.
But I have to ask, why you won’t come forward as gay? Especially since it seems the two can relate – in terms of criticism and forms of hatred. What’s the loss and saying your gay, when you enjoy men?
But again, it’s your prerogative to do so – and I would never make you choose.

Thanks for pointing out that Kurt likes to get fucked by men. I am realizing more and more everyday that he lies to me about it just being a job. I am thinking that I am going to leave him. Ya know, since I can’t ever give him what he really likes in the bed room. Hope this makes all his fans happy. Kurt’s about to be a single man. Have a ball with him folks. This girl is done getting lied to, and dealing with the porn world.

I love Kurt Wild, but his argument here is ridiculous. He must be really desperate to prove that he’s str8 if he even goes on shows like this. But dear Kurt, if you have a raging hard-on while being fucked by men, like you do, it’s really hard to believe that you’re not liking it. And obviously if you get hard by thinking of all the gay men watching you perform, then you’re not just gay, you’re an exhibitionist gay. Which is fine, so why all the fuss?
