I’ve come to the conclusion the being bullied, or emotionally abused, doesn’t give anyone the right to bully others. In fact it is even worse, because they should know better.
Bullying or intimidation is an epidemic. ‘Someone takes my ‘power’ or confidence away from me, and so I will do the same for someone else or that person who has wronged me.’
The bullier doesn’t see himself as the bully, but rather the victim of bullying and is justified by this to bully others. And then the next person, the next, and so on…a downward cycle. It needs to stop somewhere.
I know I’m not perfect. I’ve experienced it on both ends. I’ve also observed it and done nothing to stop it because I don’t know how to or I simply didn’t know that person.
I realize that its wrong. Sometimes I have to ‘check’ myself before I repeat history and make the same mistakes that others have done to me.
I’ve had a change of heart. I don’t know this guy. I’ve had my share of comments on what a jerk he is…as if I know him. But commenting won’t make a difference. He will do what he wants to do, and I will need to do what I need to do. I need to live my life in peace, and just move on from this dumb childish shit.
