In case you haven’t already know, Ricky Larkin announced his retirement from porn as a performer via his Twitter, August 29th. “I’m officially retiring as a performer .. Detailed essay with what led me to make this decision to come in the next week or so.”
Thanks to one of my long-time readers, manu, who pointed me to that article Ricky mentioned. It’s on the straight porn blog called The Real Porn Wiki Leaks, Walking Away – Happy, Healthy, and Humble: Op/Ed by Ricky Larkin.
If you’re new to the adult industry, one of the most important things you’ll need to watch out for are the pimp-minded individuals who call themselves “agents.” These guys prey on performers who are young and naive. They preach glamour and lots of money – followed by bullying and intimidation tactics. They urge you to sign bullshit contracts that have no legal authority and then scare you into thinking if you break the contract you’ll face legal action. But the only penalty you’ll truly face are vicious attempts to destroy your credibility both personally and professionally.

Ryan Rose who has the same agent as Ricky, tweeted these message below in response to Ricky’s article:
So it looks like Ryan Rose is sending his own version of the story to The Real Porn Wiki Leaks. We have to wait and see whether or not TRPWL would publish it.

I wrote a detailed 2 responses to what was written on that pornwikileaks page, so I’m not gonna say much on here. But I’m wondering why does it seem that every time a gay porn star publicly acknowledges all their negative experiences in the gay porn industry always seem to be those that label themselves as straight, g4p, bi, or “I don’t like labels”?

I take it as a compliment that people think this essay is to good for someone who looks like me to have written. But i assure I did wrote it. As far as Ryan Rose – him and I have hung out several times, we lived in the same town before I moved to California, we’ve partied together, he never wanted to work out with me (prob because I’m a gym beast and he’s an egomaniac who can’t stand to see anyone do anything better than him) however he does not know me – he says I’m an escort – I openly admit to having had a foot fetish client with whom I hooked Ryan up with, as far as steroids, yes I have used them – I was powerlifting competitively during my 2 year break from porn, just like most porn guys and powerlifters I have used steroids. While there may be some details about Ricky’s story that can be questioned, it seems to me that the basic issues he outlines in his essay are accurate. Ryan seems like an angry young man who needs to take a moment to read what Ricky wrote.

As mentioned in the comments on Ricky Larkin’s original post, the striking thing is not that Ricky is saying anything new, but that he is saying stuff that has been said for years and keeps happening. It has even been said before Ricky entering the industry, so I guess he didn’t listen, either. I admire Ricky’s attempt to educate other people entering the industry, but unfortunately I fear it won’t do much good. It does not sound like sour grapes, or bitterness, but instead simply detailing why he’s leaving the industry. Now, if he makes another comeback…then we’re in trouble LOL but I wish him luck and hope he can move forward. It’s not easy to leave porn behind. But Ricky, it can be done.

It’s been 3 days and there is still NO proof of either of these things. He contacted The Real Porn Wiki Leaks (@TRPWL) with his side of the story and they didn’t publish it because he has no “proof” of anything. @TRPWL is not a gossip site and they don’t give shit when some gay pornstar throws a fit and tries to use his name to get his way.
