It’s the talk of the town. It’s the news everyone in gay porn is talking about. MindGeek, the company behind MEN.COM has acquired SEAN CODY, one of the most iconic gay porn site.
Sean Cody has officially become part of the MindGeek (formerly Manwin) porn empire. What will this mean for one of the most successful and respected gay porn operations in the business? Only time will tell. // A person familiar with the deal who prefers to remain anonymous has confirmed for The Sword that Sean Cody himself has inked the deal to sell off the enterprise for an undisclosed sum. – The Sword
For those of you who concern, Sean Cody will continue producing bareback porn.
Sources with knowledge of this sale have confirmed to me that Sean Cody will REMAIN a bareback site, so disregard the above paragraph. – Str8UpGayPorn

I just want them to come out with a statement and let us know if things are going to change (return to condoms) or stay the same. I don’t want to see models who work for MEN to show up on SC.
FlipsandFlops says
I know there are some Men fans in these parts, but I really don’t think this is anything to celebrate.
It’s deeply disappointing news to those of us who love Sean Cody and don’t love Men.
Frank says
What. The. Fuck?
Dan says
Why don’t we wait and see before passing judgment?
Donald Horn, II says
It was only a matter of time…..Johnny Raped was running out of men to fuck him, so acquire a whole stable of men to do it…at least Corbin Fisher is still around and independent.
Dutch says
@ FlipsandFlops I know it’s just porn but when i found out SC was sold i was kinda sad.
Sean Cody in my opinion is the number one gay porn site in the world and i just hope things stay the same if not i think they will lose a lot of subscribers. By all accounts they are also the site who pay their models the most and i wonder if Mindgeek decides to pay the current and future SC models less and how that is going to affect attracting new models. I sure as hell don’t want to see any MEN models showing up on Sean Cody not even Jarec Wentworth.
Yannick says
Sad day for porn.
Sean Cody is real sex, Men uses fake cum.
TDTM says
The moment the quality slips toward men.com’s level, I’ll be done with Sean Cody. This sucks beyond sucking. Let’s hope they have the good sense to let a good thing be.
Yannick says
I hope the two stables won’t mix, SC has the greatest models in porn, they should remain independant at all steps.
Louis says
I hope SC remains amateur porn which is a big turn on for me compared to guys who do this on a professional level.
Dutch says
They absolutely should stay independent. I think it would hurt business if they wouldn’t.
John says
I thought Sean Cody (founder) sold the site to some one else a good while ago? …and why sell a successful site?
samtheham says
If SC changes one iota, I will cancel my subscription.
Supper Billy B. says
Let’s hope that now Sean Cody start use condoms, specially after the infection incident in Vegas.

Every other scene will be a SC model with Johnny Rapid. RIP best porn site.
John says
Oh billy…the infection was for a shady studio.
samtheham says
Billy, one BB studio going back to condoms ain’t gonna cure AIDS.
SomethingSoSweet says
I have been a fan of Sean Cody for years. They were the studio that set the standard to which other studios are measured. Now to find out Sean Cody has been sold off to the parent company of Men.com, is heartbreaking. This is the one of the most iconic brands in all of porn, and even though the last couple of years have seen a lot of subpar quality in content, Sean Cody has still remained on top. I can only hope Sean Cody himself, will still stay on board to run the brand, despite being in someone else’s full ownership. Hopefully this will be a blessing in disguise and not the start of a major downfall.
Captin says
mindgeek also owns xtube, pornhub and red tube. A lot of Sean codys content ended up on those sites for free.content Infrigment Must have played a part in the desire to sell. So it was more “if you can’t fight them join them” kind of issue.
Matt says
Those of you who are raving, have you ever paid the subscription fee for once? I’m not surprised Sean Cody decided to sell the website to Men.com.
JuanDiego978 says
Is Men.com successful enough to buy SC? I would expect the opossite movement.
formermike says
The end of an era.
No wonder why the Quality of the last 6 months of SC videos has been terrible, I have been a loyal subscriber to the website and the pairing of models over the past 6 months really suck, a lot of the same guys over and over again.
Lets just hope that the NEW owners will bring the site to the next level.
GET RID of the SOLOS, NO ONE CARES!!!! but in case you decide to keep the SOLOS, you have to AT LEAST make sure the performers in the SOLOS will be doing action videos after, otherwise we dont care.
I am seriously thinking of cancelling my subscription after YEARS of enjoying hot sex.
I just hope that the new owners bring back STU. That can keep me a loyal and happy customer forver happy.
Cheers!

LOl at people saying how good and great sean cody, yet not too long ago, was calling the site and models boring and shit.
Omg at TDTM really sink to Men.com’s level, please, SEan Cody ain’t no damn standard to try and demean any other Studio. Just because they do Bareback porn, doesn’t make them better. The ignorance of some people.
The ass kissing, is too fcking much. Lol
kris says
Honey I guess your busted ass like Men.com, them are some low rent dudes on Men.com. Gurl go watch some SC, and you will see they have better guys hand down.
sxg says
Not me Bimyself I’ve always been a full supporter of Sean Cody, even this past year that was heavily criticized by people I thought it was still a great Sean Cody year.
Nick says
For as long as SC doesn’t change what it’s doing and both studios don’t mix up their models, I’m keeping my subscription. Not that I think such changes are likely or anything, but I’m just saying. What concerns me, however, is how their models and crew will be compensated for their work moving forward. I know they’re still separate studios (actually I’m very familiar with mergers and acquisitions as i deal with them professionally) but you can’t help but think about them being in the same lot and that corporate standards aren’t unlikely to be implemented across the board. I mean, SC’s models and videos are above and beyond better than Men’s and I’m afraid if they take it down to Men’s level, things will inevitably fall down. Don’t get me wrong, I own subscriptions to both sites, but I enjoy their videos respectively with what they offer at the table. But I guess every opinion at this early point is premature. GOOD THING WE HAVE CF.
Willie says
Good on the former owner – they cashed out while on top. The story of the founding and cultivating of one of the most successful gay porn studios in the internet age would make for a good read. Production-wise I am sure things will change but lets reserve judgement for at least 6 months.
Mark Henny says
Well…..This is definitely the beginning of the end! If they change the formula I’m out!
Mark Henny says
PLEASE don’t homogenize the SEX & CONTENT! I definitely don’t want the Scenes to resemble the Bland Sexless output at MEN.COM! Leave SEAN CODY just like it is!!!
Billy says
It is just the consolidation of internet porn. Ward drops a press release every 6 weeks about another conquest and now others are doing it. It just like when Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, and Starbucks either acquires or pushes out the independent shops.
Just American business; sadly it usually leads to homogenization of the product.
John do you know which studio had the sero-conversion?
James says
NoooooooooooooooO!
alex says
The end of bareback in gay porn can only be good for business. The best thing about men.com is the variety of scenes — and the use of storytelling. Porn where two guys get on a bed and fuck gets old fast. Storytelling keeps it fresh — especially once you’ve seen a guy get fucked once — and the thrill is kinda gone.
Michael says
You say that the best thing about men.com is the variety of scenes — and the use of storytelling. What does that have to do with whether models use condoms or not? A bareback video using a variety of scenes and storytelling would still be hot by your standard. Bareback sex doesn’t create a disease. Models are tested by legitimate studios and performers should vet who they work for. These anti-bareback diatribes should have been left with 2014.
cosmic.dave says
alex is right. bareback or not doesn’t really matter, but scenarios and variety of scenes keep things interesting and fresh. I’ve never really been clear why bareback is so important to people though. Why not add that small piece of protection just in case. That goes for straight porn as well. Just my opinion.
stranded says
what do you mean cody inked the deal himself? I thought founder sold the rights to the website quite a while ago.
