Is it just me or is he actually saying that he was lucky and is NOT infected?
He says… “more and more performers ARE becoming infected with HIV.”
Not “I Become infected with HIV.”
Am I wrong?

A very timely video. I run a yahoo group and do not allow postings that promote bareback porn. It is not just about the risk to the performers themselves that cocerns me, but on a wider scale the fact that many (particularly younger guys who werent around in the 80s when safe sex awareness was at its height) people who watch bareback porn would then think it okay to bareback in real life. The increase in HIV and drug resistant strains of other STDs gives huge cause for concern. Although this video is sad in its content I applaud Adam Kubrick for speaking out, just as I applaud Chi Chi Larue for her comments on barebacking at the start of the year.
As the gay community comes increasingly under fire from the religious right and other conservative groups it is even more important that we come together to protect and support each other.
Sorry if this sounds heavy - its just been on my mind a lot recently!

Thank you for posting this and thank Adam for making it. I lost almost all my friends in the 80’s and 90’s to HIV. NO ONE EVER again should have to go thru that. I don’t want to lose my new crop of friends to this damn virus.

It was good of him to make this statement. We have this idea that nobody ever “dies of AIDS” anymore. The idea that if you get HIV it’s no big deal, you just take a pill once a day and you’ll have no problems. In real life that seems to work OK for some HIV patients… but others become unlucky. VERY unlucky. That is one hell of a roll of the dice.
