Surfing around gay porn blogosphere this week, you can’t help but running into news about GayVN Awards 2009 and its long list of nominees. If you go to porn studios blogs, every big gay porn studios are talking about their top honors on the nominations for GayVN Awards.
Every big porn studios seem to be nominated for around 20 – 50 categories. Which is normal when each category has more than a dozen nominees! I think it just make GayVN Awards nominations less important. What’s the point with getting on the nomination list when everyone else was nominated too. That’s just sad 
At first, I was glad that GayVN included some categories for porn websites. But now, I’m not happy with some of the nominations. I know I’m not alone in this. Fleshbot blog called it “the collective WTF of gay porn blogosphere” about the lack of a Best Website nomination for both Randy Blue and Sean Cody, two of the most high profile gay porn sites out there.
My favorite article about this issue is definitely Unzipped the blog’s Some GayVN Award nominations we’d love to see. Quote: The “What Were They Thinking?” award goes to…the GayVN Awards (a.k.a. “the Oscars of gay porn”) nominating committee! We’re not saying these guys were smoking crack or anything, but how else to explain some of the more egregious snubs in this year’s roster of nominees?
I have no idea how Mitch Branson is nominated for Best Web Performer. He only did a couple of videos with Randy Blue before he became Colt Studios Exclusive and did only DVD movies. Ty Colt only did 1 anal scene with Falcon Str8Men and he was nominated for Best Web Performer too! While there is no love for Men magazine’s Man of the Year, Reese Rideout and his muscle buddy Chris Rockway and porn star who appears on almost every porn websites such as Mason Wyler.

Well maybe poor sean cody didn’t make it because after so many years the modles and acts are just plain monotonous.
Yeah they upgraded their quality added Mac dropped DRM… How about a little less Cracker Action and some edgy (but safe) sex. Just look across the spectrum of other sites doing well. It’s a cross section of stuff.

I perfer the way sean cody doing nowadays, if you want something like that you can find from another places. He doesn’t need to change anything, just do what he do best and we love it.
I cannot say anything much about this sh** awards, but one thing that prove me right is downloading for free is the right thing to do. If you want people to respect what you do, you have to do that first.
Everybody is gonna be happy because this cake goes to everyone.
P.S. Kinda glad that sean cody website didn’t get involve w/ this award.
