45 minutes into the new BELAMI movie called REBELS, contains a scene where porn star Jack Harrer is sick and his KinkyAngels friends (Kevin Warhol, Andre Boleyn and Adam Archuleta) decide to take Jack’s temperature the old fashioned way by sticking a thermometer up his butt.
BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) demand this scene to be cut from the movie REBELS. BelAmi refuses and pulls the movie release from the UK. I think it’s very weird… you can read more detail about this issue below.
BelAmi announces today they are pulling their latest release “REBELS” from the UK due to mandatory cuts the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) demanded in order to give the film the R18 classification needed to be released in the United Kingdom. “REBELS” is from BelAmi’s successful twink line, KINKY ANGELS that features BelAmi’s youngest generation of superstar models.
The source of contention revolves around a scene 45 mins into the movie where Jack Harrer is sick and the other ‘Kinky Angels’ come over to help him get well. First things first so they decide to take Jack’s temperature the old fashioned way by sticking a thermometer where the sun doesn’t shine. Apparently this type of medical attention is not deemed viewable in the UK.
After the BBFC informed BelAmi of the mandatory changes the studio quickly rejected them. Luca Norcen, Head of BelAmi’s global DVD operations says of the BBFC ruling “This whole affair is so utterly ridiculous it borders on the absurd. The BBFC should begin treating UK viewers as responsible adults rather than children”. He goes on to say, “Upon careful evaluation, we feel we cannot go ahead with the proposed cut. It will compromise the integrity of the scene, its unique flavor and its natural buildup. As far as a thermometer constituting penetration with an object which may cause harm I find that hard to believe given every mom in the world of a certain age has done it a zillion times with her kids!”
A senior adviser at the BBFC explained that there is potential for harm if someone were to copy the scene using the thermometer due to the fact that glass thermometers are apparently to be avoided as they could break!
Censorship has long been a problem in the UK and this latest example might have some saying that the BBFC are going overboard when trying to keep grown adults from harming themselves.

The British censors are amongst the strictest in the world – it made the news when they banned The Human Centipede 2. All DVDs including porn have to be vetted and no piss, fisting.or anal insertions deemed to be harmful are allowed. Furthermore all DVDs have to be sold in licensed sex shops.
Of course in the past you could order from an overseas stockist (and custom seizures were very rare) and now of course you can stream/download anywhere in the world.
gnormie – the US have generally far more lenient censorship. You can just release an unrated movie (although not in all states). That option doesnt exist in the UK.

I don’t understand this concept of banning things. There are a ton of workarounds. If you can download anything without permission from the content producers its unlikely government censorship will stop those who want to view it from doing so.

WHY do you think all UK studios have been driven out of their homeland and forced to hold and host their companies in other countries? UKHotJocks won’t be releasing physical DVD copies in the UK for this reason. I’d have to re-edit the entire movies to satisfy them… and they can mostly fuck off. This is the tip of a ridiculous iceberg with the UK on demand broadcasting laws. I really could go on and on! JP xx

As a Briton living in Britain I generally agree with the BBFC. However, what annoys me about them is that they have no rules about condom use. Fisting, pissing, penetration by objects not intended for sexual penetration and certain dialogue is banned, but condomless anal sex isn’t banned.
