My guest blogger and long-time contributor Patrick Sands sit down with porn star Christopher Daniels for another round of interview. Patrick had interviewed him earlier this year, right before Christopher won Hookies Awards “Escort of the Year.”
This time Patrick Sands chat with Christopher Daniels about escorting, porn industry and his new book “Money’s On The Dresser – Escorting, Porn and Promiscuity in Las Vegas.”
For more info about Christopher’s book Money’s On The Dresser, go to his website Christopher-Daniels.com (for USA orders) or Amazon.com.
Sitting down with Christopher Daniels is always a treat. Funny and feisty, and so damn lovable, Christopher has just published “Money’s On The Dresser: Escorting, Porn and Promiscuity in Las Vegas,” a sexy honest and often touching look at an industry rarely discussed publicly. This is a memoir, but not one looking back. Christopher, at the height of his popularity as a porn performer and escort, writes as if we’re riding along with him. Checking in with the newly published author reveals even more…
Patrick Sands: In your book, you tell a lot of unique and quirky stories about escorting, but what is a “normal session” with Christopher Daniels like?
Christopher: 85-90% of my clients are straight, questioning, on the DL, looking for a first time experience or doing something they can only do out of town, asking me to teach them the basics. I don’t usually get crazy or extreme requests. Sometimes there isn’t even sex, but if there is, it’s usually pretty vanilla. Role-play is something I do in my personal life and would do more with clients, but they are hesitant to get into character. I also get a lot of guys who had a crush on a white, blond, blue-eyed guy when they were younger. There was one guy who was obsessed with blond pubic hair, but that was “quirky.”
Patrick: You said sometimes there isn’t even sex? Why?
Christopher: A lot of guys just want someone to talk to, some are nervous, and some guys build up the fantasy so much that they can’t get hard.
Patrick: How did you learn to be an escort? From other escorts?
Christopher: Not from other escorts. Because each client is different, I am constantly learning.
Patrick: In your acknowledgments, you thank Arpad Miklos, who took his life during the writing of this book. What did you learn from him?
Christopher: I mentioned Arpad because I really looked up to him. To me he was an Adonis. He was this huge, burly, larger than life, sex God. He had been in the industry for years and to me he still was hot as fuck. I honestly thought he had it all. He seemed to be in hot demand as far as escorting and porn and if you had ever met him you would know he had a certain unique charisma about him. The morning I found out he killed himself, I cried. I cried for a few hours because it was a realization that none of us knows what another person is going through and to know that someone who you know and care about is hurting is a lot to process.
Patrick: What do you understand now that you did not know when you started?
Christopher: I used to question why everyone was so bitter, harsh and egotistical. Now I understand it. Since 85% of what I do is deal with someone’s bullshit, I can see how it’s easy to get jaded. But, the way I behave affects my business, so I work hard not to get jaded or bitter. I really enjoy my clients.
Patrick: A lot of escorts get guys calling just to hear an escort’s voice, to jerk them around or just to waste them time. How quickly can you tell if someone is genuine or fake?
Christopher: In a few seconds. Actually, there are many times I will not answer and let the caller leave a message. If they do, there is a better chance they are genuine. Either on the phone or texting or emailing, one of my rules is that if there are five or more messages going back and forth, the meeting is not happening.
Patrick: What if someone is very nervous and feels less nervous with a few back and forth messages?
Christopher: That happens too. You really never can tell, but I have to make a quick judgment. I shut a conversation down after five questions because I don’t have the time to do more.
Patrick: What was your wackiest experience, something that isn’t in the book, so we don’t ruin any surprises!
Christopher: I was in LA and a client set something up. When I got there, it was dark behind the door and then out came an Asian tranny, a boy, but with boobs and long hair. I was not expecting that. I knew I was going to a couple, but not like this. I told them my body is not an all-you-can-eat buffet!
A lot of clients like to have my porn on in the background, which is fine, but I try not to look at it or else I’ll start criticizing myself and won’t be able to perform.
Patrick: There is nothing to criticize! What is it like to escort in Las Vegas?
Christopher: The escorting industry is very transient, but even more in Vegas. There are about 50 or 60 guys working regularly, but most of them come and go so quickly. For the clients, Vegas is perfect because most of them are there on vacation or for work and they can do whatever they want without anyone else knowing.
Patrick: What is your favorite escorting city?
Christopher: My favorite is probably New York City. Every time I’m in NYC, I have interesting experiences like the ones in the book. The guys are usually very attractive, the kind of guys I would have sex with for free. I have one client who is in his 30s, he works in fashion, he’s really hot, has a great apartment and we always have fun. To me, it doesn’t feel like work, but every time, he’s nervous. That’s surprising to me! You can never tell what is going to happen in NYC.
Patrick: Any least favorite cities that you dread visiting?
Christopher: No, not really. I escort where I am shooting porn and I don’t usually stay for more than a week if it’s purely for work. To an extent, I’m kind of spoiled by working in Vegas. When I am in other cities, I have to remind myself that not every client is in a suite at the Wynn or the Venetian. In NYC and in Europe, the rooms are small, overpriced and sometimes really old. In Europe, I’ve gone into rooms where there is just a small twin bed. I’m 6’1” and can’t fit on those, especially with another person!
Patrick: What cities are on your list to try, places you have never escorted?
Christopher: Washington, DC, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal. I haven’t been exposed to lots of places, so I would try anywhere. Sao Paulo, Istanbul, anywhere overseas.
Patrick: They would LOVE you in Sao Paulo and if your escorting sessions are anything like your porn scenes, you would LOVE them just as much. From being with so many clients, what are some of the things that you have learned?
Christopher: Gay men believe cock size is really important, but most men are smaller than what is usually called “average.” A lot of guys either lie about their size or are using some kind of fantasy ruler. Also, having grown up in Canada, I can tell you that overall, Canadians have bigger dicks. Canadian men tend to be taller and bigger. Everywhere.
Patrick: You mentioned that you encounter some really hot clients. What happens in those instances?
Christopher: I have had surprises at the door where I think, “I would do this for free!” People think escorts are always meeting attractive younger men, or maybe Richard Gere in “Pretty Woman.” It happens, but it’s not the norm. But, looks are not always that important to an escort. Chemistry and charisma are often more important. That’s why I enjoy so many of my clients. They are funny and sweet.
Patrick: There is a story in the book about a time you were uncomfortable with a client you had seen before because of his extreme tastes, but you went through with it. What would cause you to say no and walk out, what are your deal-breakers?
Christopher: A woman. No, I’m kidding. Kind of. I know a lot of escorts insist on seeing pictures of guys who call them. I would never do that. I always try to make the best of the situation. I don’t have any rules like that.
Patrick: After the movies and the escorting, do you still have fantasies?
Christopher: Yes, but I remind myself that this is my job. In my personal life, I have lots of fantasies. When I work, it’s not about what I like, it’s about what the clients like and what they want.
Patrick: Marry me now! Sexy. Published. Sweet. Let’s get a little deeper. What are some of the secrets to turning on the bad boy in Christopher Daniels?
Christopher: I get really turned on by having an intense sexual connection with a deeply closeted man. Sometimes its really hot seeing a man unleash his wild side and it helps build an intense connection.
Patrick: You show up at a client’s door, ready to bottom, but when you get there, something about the chemistry has the client willing. Can the switch be made easily?
Christopher: I’m not so sure that has really happened. I think most people watch my XXX videos and view me solely as a bottom, so that is what they expect. Not to say there haven’t been a few intense flip fucking sessions in my past. Those are always a pleasant surprise and I love them!
Patrick: What about public sex? What is your policy with clients who want to get fucked in the hotel pool or on the balcony of their rooms?
Christopher: Not gonna happen. You may be able to rent me by the hour but I always try to maintain a certain level of decorum with clients. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but that’s just not the service I provide. I save the public sex for my private life.
Patrick: In “Money’s On the Dresser,” you tell some very funny stories, and some tender ones, especially clients with unusual special needs. Do you think you are in the minority of escorts who would stay to see these through to the end?
Christopher: I think there is a small level of panic that comes over me when I have a client that has special needs. I get nervous because I don’t want to hurt them and I just want to be aware of the situation. There have been a few times where I will walk into a room and see a wheelchair by the bed and I freeze. I just want to know the situation because sometimes certain precautions have to be taken.
Patrick: That’s really cool to hear. You dedicate the book to your clients. Have any reacted? Are they proud? Are there any who refused to let you use a particular story?
Christopher: I don’t think many of them know they are in the book. I used pseudonyms to protect the privacy of my clients and it’s not like I kiss and tell! Oh wait… I guess I do. My intent was never to “talk shit” about my clients or bite the hand that feeds me. I just wanted to write an open and honest book about my experiences and the things I have gone through.
Patrick: Do you think you will lose clients, or have clients think twice about calling, or is the book great for business?
Christopher: That is a concern that caused me to hesitate publishing the book. I really hope that’s not the case and people will sense that after reading my story. I have to believe in the bigger process of life and I have to do what I have to do. Writing a book is something I (and a lot of people) have always wanted to do. I never thought it would be about escorting or the XXX industry, but that is the path my life has taken and I have to be a big boy and accept the consequences of my actions. It’s kind of like what Willem went through when she got kicked off of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Season 4.” She knew what she was doing was wrong and she “manned up” and accepted the consequences when she was booted off the show.
Patrick: Interesting! In the book, you are so down-to-earth, the type who could be fun for a few drinks after work (we know you are a sexual dynamo already). Is the Christopher Daniels of the book really you?
Christopher: Yes, he is. I have had a few people ask me if I had a ghost writer and they were surprised to find out I didn’t. Seriously people? You think I have money lying around for a ghost writer? Hell no. This is me. This is who I am and these are my stories. Everything in the book is real and believe me… it’s not always pretty.
Patrick: It’s a terrific book, truly! The focus here is really on your escorting. Should we be on the lookout for a porn-flavored sequel?
Christopher: Naturally! It’s in the works now. Still no ghost writer. The stories are juicier and it’s going to focus more on the porn industry. I started porn to promote my escorting and I wrote this book after my first year and half filming scenes. I have lots to dish on the industry and I plan on letting the kids have it! ?
Patrick: Pun intended, what was the hardest part about writing “Money’s on the Dresser?” What was the easiest part?
Christopher: The easiest part was writing the damn book. Hardest thing was editing it. I think I have read this book at least 100 times and I’m the type of person that hates the sound of his own voice, so to read my story over and over and over and over and over and over again was mind numbing, to say the least. Don’t get me wrong, the book is great and you will love it but it’s like eating steak and lobster every day. Doesn’t matter how good it tastes, steak and lobster every day is bound to get old.
Patrick: Before we started, I said it’s a shame Oprah isn’t still around, because this book is so honest, no judgments made (other than a few shitheads who deserve it) and you are really laying bare the what it’s like FOR YOU to escort, not everyone else, but YOU that Oprah would eagerly interview you. Oprah would ask this: do you see yourself as a sort of ambassador, shining a light on escorting, but in a responsible, respectful way?
Christopher: I hope so. Let me compare this to drag again. Porn stars and drag queens are very similar in that they are both the first to be celebrated and the first to be torn down within their own communities. I think RuPaul brought drag into mainstream pop culture and caused people to look at drag queens as legitimate entertainers and artists. People may look at sex workers as broken fucked up individuals. They may be right. I mean, we are but no more than the rest of society. What we are doing is a service that needs to be done and whether you like it or not, we’re not going anywhere.
Patrick: I hope not! Having written a book now, which puts you in a category with only a small handful of gay male escorts, how do you feel about being the public face of your industry?
Christopher: If that’s the case then cool with it. I just hope they use a really soft lensed and only natural lighting.
Patrick: Tell the fans how they can order their copies.
Christopher: I have this great press release to do that!
Las Vegas, NV, December 6, 2013 — The question “did you ever wonder what an escort’s life is really like?” has finally been answered. Adult film star and escort Christopher Daniels chronicles his career as a businessman who sells his time and companionship to other men in his new book, Money’s On The Dresser, available December 15, 2013.
Called the “Hemingway of Hookers,” Christopher has written a deeply personal and revealing book about his life as an escort and performer in the gay adult industry. While offering his time, and sometimes his body, to his clients, Christopher discovered many truths about himself. From what he thought he wanted out of life to the realization that he is on course to enjoy a sane and controlled exploration of what he wants his future to become.
Daniels’ began working as an escort in Las Vegas in 2009 after breaking up with his partner of four years. As a newly single man he felt lost, scared to be on his own and broke. He decided the best solution was to place an ad on a few websites advertising male escorts and to his surprise, hours after the ad went up he began receiving a wide range of requests. These requests came from a varied group of men – some with disabilities, physical deformities, married businessmen and even gorgeous men he was extremely attracted to physically. A few of these men became mentors and friends, while others made him want to run out of the room screaming. Money’s On The Dresser is a collection of short stories based on some of those escort experiences.
“I chose the path of escorting – and later porn – because of money,” admits Daniels. “In doing what I am doing I have been able to use my sexuality as a way to connect with people, and make them feel good on many levels – not just sexually. I didn’t expect to have an impact on others and I feel blessed that I have been able to do so. Of course the money is the reason I started escorting and the reason why I continue. But, it means a lot to me when I can have a positive effect on someone’s life and give them an experience they will never forget.”
Christopher’s sophisticated, self-deprecating and often hilarious writing style will surprise and delight readers, regardless of where they stand on the topic of the adult entertainment industry. Money’s on the Dresser (Suggested List Price: $14.95) is available at Christopher-Daniels.com (for USA orders) and Amazon.com (for international orders).

85-90% of my clients are straight! These men are not straight. They are deep closeted gay men or bi at the very least.
Straight men hiring men whores instead of women whore doesnt make sense.
Real straight men hires women.Bi men and gay men mostly hires men.
Christopher Daniels is open to have women as clients. He is a Kinsey 5 man. So,he is bi.Like all gay porn stars.
Max says
^ IKR! That’s even ridiculous than ‘G4P’ performers.
And what an unfortunate picture on the book cover!
Peter says
There’s just something about his face I have never found attractive, but his body is beautiful. He’s a good actor, too. However, his cumshots are pathetic, which for me is a scene killer.
Alex says
Christopher Daniels is GAY. GAY. GAY. GAY. Kinsey scale is 1-6 so a “5” isn’t exactly bisexual, but very gay with some heterosexual sexual tendencies.
He said in an interview that he hates working with “str8/g4p/’bi'” guys.
(this comment will probably be censored.)
DD says
I was a fan of Christopher Daniels until I saw on his men.com profile that he hates skinny dicks, which is fine, that’s his preference but I found it so hypocritical considering it’s well known he’s had plastic surgery to enhance things he himself considered inadequate.
RD says
I saw Christopher at a sex club in LA not too long ago. He’s cute in person, not someone I’d pay money to, but for free he probably would be hot. Bad picture for the book cover I agree.
JuanDiego978 says
Did he reveal how much it costs to spend one hour/night with him?
MarcoManuel says
Alex! You are wrong. As soon men are between 1 and 5 on the Kinsey scale, they are bi.Men are not bi to some degree. They are bi or they are not.
Men who are Kinsey 5 are not gay. They are mostly gay.Its different.
Kinsey 5 men prefers men. But,they are not indifferent to women. They have sex with women. So,they are bi.
Kinsey 5 men have sex with women and they likes it.Which makes them bi.This is the whole point about being bi.
Being bi is not only about being into men as much as women (Kinsey 3),who are very rare.
Bi men likes men and women. But,not equally. Most bi men have a preference. They are either more into men or more into women.
Kinsey 1 men are not straight. They are mostly straight. They are not indifferent to men. They have sex with men. They are bi.
Christopher Daniels does what so much gay porn stars do.He pretends to be gay, when in reality he is bi.Only to not dissapoint his gay fans.
Theres no such thing as gay men in gay porn.
All gay porn stars are between Kinsey 1 and Kinsey 5.
The Kinsey scale clearly shows that most people are bi.100% straight people are a minority and 100% gay men are a minority.
The point is,most people doesnt mind to have sex with men and women.
People are just sexual in general. Most men and women can see hotness and sexual attractions on both sides.Only a minority will stick to being only into women or being only into men.
Most bi men are closeted.Theres more bi men in the closet than gay men. So,bi men claims to be straight. But,in reality they are bi.
This is really the way it is.
Louis says
Terrible cover page indeed.
It looks like a picture that was taken back in the 70’s
Matias says
He looks handsome, beautiful body and c.ck, interesting answers, but the cover pic is not very good.
Critic says
Marco please stop putting people into finite boxes. That scale is a continuum and an individual can slide along it depending upon time and circumstances. Humans are sexual and our tastes vary just like our taste for different foods at different times.
Eric says
MarcoManuel: Please re-read that first sentence…CD does NOT state that 85-90% of his clients are straight. He says straight, questioning, on the DL, closeted…that covers a LOT more territory.
Michael says
The cover image is awful. I think he’s much cuter than that, and his body is incredible.
jckfrmsincty says
An escort is the same thing as a prostitute, no?
joedoe3 says
Christopher: Congratulations for the new book. It is great to see that you have many talents. The interview was so honest and down to earth. I will never judge a book by his cover, what matters is the real-life story inside.
Michael says
Btw, when did the kinsey scale become the definitive guide to human sexuality? I wasn’t aware of that his flawed study was anything more than an amusing cultural footnote.
Wallow says
I fucking hate whoever created this kinsey scale bullshit its bad enough we have so many labels but now we are putting ourselves on scales and numbers like fucking math problems. It also pisses me off that we don’t seem to have any genuinely gay men left in the industry in “GAY” PORN
jad says
Marcomanual you have obviously never been an escort…over the last 30 years I would say over 75 percent of my clients were straight. Most of them just wanted to talk about how awful there wives or girlfriends were. That took 50 to 55 minutes. Men don’t normally talk about stuff like that to other men but to an escort they could. The other 10 minutes was either sucking them off or hugging them and telling them how great they are. There are many many straight men out there also that hate women, don’t want to play there games, and just want to get off. I should write a book..I have thousands of stories myself.
ManEater says
Too bad he is strictly bottom, because he has a very nice thick cock. As to the discussion on gay men, bi men and straight men, many straight men enjoy taking it up the ass. Let’s face it, gays know how great that feeling is. Taking it up the man hole does not make a straight guy other than being a straight guy who needs, wants or craves that stimulation. We are so fixated in U.S. culture that people must fit into a certain box, which has led to many men never experiencing the thrills the silently crave. There are straight men who love to fuck another guy, or get a nice suck off. Men actually do suck cock better, but who am I to say? >G<
Michael says
Anal stimulation isn’t just for gay men. His wife or girlfriend can wear a strap on, et voila.
However, if a straight guy is craving another man’s dick up his ass, he is not straight. If he sucks cock, he is not straight. He can call himself whatever he wants, but it’s still self delusional bullshit. Has nothing to do with american culture.
David says
Not going to ear this whole interview as I don’t find porn star interviews interesting. But I have to say congrats to CD. That’s really cool that he is extending himself.
darren says
I have to agree with CD about Canadian guys. I have been with two who were tall and had very large cocks. I enjoy that and love being topped by them. One guy I still see says it his part native american blood. In any case sucking such huge guys is all good
