A person not being able to look past skin color and find beauty in any one race is in of itself racist. Recently, I was in discussion with a guy on a forum who we were discussing a models ethnic background, the performer’s write up on the site said he was racially mixed half AF-AM , half White. Since the model looked more white in skin tone the poster decided to say the model was white. Not, bi-racial or (as the rule in most if not all cases) AF-AM had myself a bit offended since, when people have done something like this it comes off as the person attempting to “Pass” as being non-ethnic as if there is something wrong with being a person of mixed ethnic heritage. The model himself made it clear he was racially mixed. Now the website and the model made a point of mentioning these facts and the person who basically went by the model’s skin tone and facial features push him into a more acceptable category(being white only) was and is an insult. We all know that many people of mixed heritage exist so by someone stating they do not find or date AF-AM’s has already made up their minds that how ever, they come in regards as to skin tone, facial features, etc, etc, that they are ruled out as being attractive or being sexually appealing is racist.
People with this attitude will surely have to re-think their own prejudice, racist idea of what AF-AM men are and are not, but seeing as they are already of the mind set that they do not get turned on by a specific race is probably still going to do the same thing regardless, because it is not who they are, but WHAT they are that is ruling what they find attractive. Indeed, coming across a man that may “Look” white or at least Latin, would blow their minds when they find out that, that man is actually something else, something he has already written off as being undesirable and not their “Type”. It is nothing more then Close minded,Prejudice and Racist is exactly what it is and is nothing else.

I attempted to address some of the posters on this board without having to accuse or make a judgement call on anyone. I Also, related a past experience of how Certain people view others of different racial genetic make ups.
@Marc, I was pretty sure before you posted that you weren’t “Forced” into being a sex worker. There are many who are and I am glad you are not one of them. However, I grew up in California and once, I started going to clubs met a lot of porn models and sex workers. The fact that I pointed out how some directors chose to hire the models and how they achieve making a scene they feel brings the most heat varies from director to director. Some do not want the models to met each other or hang out before a scene, so they can save it up for the scene. Other’s want the models to meet and get comfortable with each other before hand. I myself have seen beauty if just about every race/culture I have met. Not everyone does. But, Type is a Choice and can be judged at any time. You are not born with your “Type” already programmed. I have met and continue to met beautiful, cute,tall, skinny,hot women, my not being attracted to them is not a slam to them, I am just not wired that way. LOL…That type of logic is something a Right Winger conservative would use to say I couldn’t know what a beautiful woman is because I do not fuck them.

For a non us-person I knew US had racial issues based on 300 years of slavery, segration, lynching. I understand that a lot of people want to cling onto strict racial categories when interacting or fucking.
It’s takes a couple of generations to wipe concious or unconscious racial perceptions. It’s still very controversial for mainstream gay porn star to have sex with black men.
On bright side, it’s a much more progressive scenario in the straight world.

The White GLBT community’s, shall we say, “obliviousness” to the concerns of African-American GLBT community members fuels the rift between black gays and white gays. @Marc make sure you check out Las Ramblas but watch out for the pickpocketers! Don’t put anything important (wallet, ID, etc) in your backpocket and be weary of your surroundings they are sneaky bastards! Also check out the national art museum if you are into art it is an amazing place 🙂

The woman analogy only works for you sense you see to enjoy twisting it into what you think is a valid point.
I simply pointed out that I am gay and am attracted to men. If I fell somewhere differently on the Kinsey scale maybe being attracted to women in a romantic and sexual way would matter and be something to talk about, but I have no romantic or sexual attraction to women so there is no correlation between my sexuality and making it a point to say they are not one o my types.
Now you mention you could tell some similarities and differences between people who are Chinese and Japanese.You left out if you would date any person who was of Asian descent. You have backtracked and said “You haven’t meet someone “Yet” of Chinese descent who had the traits you like and could possibly date. That is your choice.
Everyone has a type, as I mentioned before”Types” are learned and chosen. They can change and are fluid. I have not mentioned my “Type” because I didn’t know I had to,to discuss this topic. The issue I have with the logic you put out there is that it simply involved Chinese people. When someone does that it is has directly to do with race.
When a type is rooted in race, then you cannot separate it from being prejudiced and racist. No matter how small you or someone else believes it to be. If it doesn’t then no mention of it would be included. I’m sure that you have met men who do not fit your type perfectly and exceptions were made. I believe that there is an exception to every rule. However, the way you presented it to the board. You made a point to mention Chinese people as not being a race you would date. Unless you have met a majority of people of that race I find it to be as judging their entirety based on a few. Yes, you have met many on your campus, however, if you’ve never traveled to China and immersed yourself among it’s people then how do you truly know or an make an informed decision where it isn’t prejudged???
As I pointed out, person making the same statement about someone of African descent would be doing it mostly on a prejudice. I wonder how many of the attributes does someone who is Chinese would have to have for yo to date/hook up with them? I also wonder how many attributes of your type would someone have to Not have for you to date when they are white?
e.g. the Chinese guy has 3 out of 5 so I won’t date them” or ” The white guy has 2 out of 5, but I’ll make an exception to the , because…”
My type of men does not include their race at all. It has to do with Physicality, Personality, etc. They an be whatever race. Their race does not come into to play, yet once it does for any reason it is a form of racism. Also, understand as I mentioned before, I am not attempting to make anyone out to be a KKK member or Neo Nazi, I am just discussing what you put out there and how no matter how you say it when mentioning a type rooted in a person’s race is a part of racism.
If someone is able to see the beauty in the racial make-up of a person or even just the value, pointed out their race doesn’t enter the conversation. You put it out there about Chinese people when it was unnecessary. I mean by you not mentioning any other race to go along with your type you have by default, said you would look for your type in those races and not in the Chinese and then proceeded to tell us why.
Bottom Line: Types are learned and chosen. They are also fluid, like sexuality for some. If you like yours Gr8, however attempting to downplay the racial aspect of your type or anyone else’s does not negate forms of prejudice/or racism. You also cannot claim you do not or are not, even if it just comes to romantic or hookup interactions.
I agree with Tony on ONE thing. There is a lot of bigotry and racism in this world. There are many people who focus on that in their day to day lives and set out to hurt, demean and go out of their way to make others feel pain. It is very prevalent in the gay community also, they just go about it a different way.
People do things and see people in certain aspects that can be construed as racist behavior. That is a Fact. I have also learned many people aware of themselves doing it. That doesn’t change the fact that, that is what it is and how it is perceived. I am not here to point fingers, Just trying to shine a light on an ugly issue and hopefully get people to thinking about how we interact with each other in the world and in our community.

@Rickey Reyes Hey Ricky, I have not filmed with anyone in over a year so this is my first scene with anyone, I really liked the theme of this scene and of course coming to Barcelona for two weeks motivated me come start filming a bit sooner than i planned. I have been talking to Men about a scene or two but as always the devil is in the details 🙂 Men.Com is a great studio and regardless of a future scene or not they are one of my favorites.
