I’m a black man… no offense, but the average white guy is not cute TO ME. I’m not into Marc Dylan and don’t have a problem with who he likes or doesn’t like. I actually feel the same way about him. I’m not really into Asian men. Doesn’t make me racist. Is there prejudice in the gay porn industry? Absolutely. You got Sean Cody who has yet to put one of it’s Premium models in a scene with a person of color….except maybe Esteban with Calvin…but Landon, one of the hottest black models, had to scene with not so desirable looking white men until Ethan, and never saw Ethan again after that. And yes there is bias in the gay community. Black gay men can be very prejudice as well and always talking about how they hate seeing black men with white men and how the white guy is never really cute. Which is very true, it seems like the white men who were rejected by his own kind are always running into the arms of black men. And the ones who think they are all that and a bag of chips are so quick to be color stuck.

@Marc Dylan: Since this debate began you have been alleged to be a number of things (I do not find racist to be at all applicable) and answered several questions. The one questions that you have never been asked or, if you have, answered, is what is it about black/asian/or latino (non-white) men you do not find attractive? The reason why that question captures the sentiment of the more reasonable members of your opposition is two fold. Race mainly (but not exclusively) connotes biological origin, ie Asian men are human beings of Asian descent. Beyond that there is no truly profound commonality, biologically speaking. Therefore, if you list a set of disqualifying physical characteristics it would be easy for the opposition to respond with photos of a number of men of color who would presumably not fit that null set. You could even theoretically find an Asian man that has all of the same physical attributes as say, Aiden from Sean Cody (one of my personal favorites, I am sure you would agree). The aesthetic/physical diversity of an entire race is what makes disqualifying that entire race on the basis of looks somewhat puzzling. Second, when you judge an entire race of men unattractive based on those select characteristics it becomes unnecessarily reductive in that it paints that entire group with the same look instead of reading them as individuals. All of that said, I appreciate the fact that you say that if you met a man of color you would not hesitate to sleep with them, I think that is a very nuanced and therefore palatable response. I choose to take you at your word on that.

I’m not really going to get into this whole thing but I just wanted to commend you AJL, I have really enjoyed your well reasoned posts.
Oh, I guess I will say something. I’m black and I’m really not that concerned whether or not white guys find me attractive. What I do find interesting is the refusal of some to acknowledge the massive role socialisation plays in our individual ‘preferences’. Socialisation has EVERYTHING to do with the physical traits that we find attractive. Do you really think it’s a coincidence that white skin, blue/green eyes, straight hair – i.e. the traits commonly associated with beauty are what the majority of people find attractive? That’s what we are fed a steady diet of from birth, that those traits are somehow ‘better’ or ‘prettier’. So no, someone finding only white guys sexually attractive isn’t inherently racist, but it would be fruitful to explore why that is and look at the root causes. I think this would be a worthy discussion. To be honest, I’m more concerned with how this internalised racism affects black people. We are subject to the same messages and it causes us to place value on these physical traits that many of us don’t possess. I would love for us as black people to get to the point where we love and embrace the traits that are inherently ours. But I’m realistic enough to understand that it will take many generations of deprogramming to get to that point, just as it took hundreds of years of conditioning to get to the place we are now.

I’ve traveled all around the world. I’ve seen a lot of black people. Even their skin color varies from person to person – region to region – continent to continent. The idea of ‘not being into black guys’ is just weird. Which black guys? What trait? What feature? What distinguishing characteristic on black guys is the thing that turns you off? I don’t know Marc Dylan and have never seen any of his performances. I hope he’s happy and living a good life, but he sounds like a guy who grew up in some small town without any real diversity and is just stuck in a particular mindset. Mr. Dylan should not have sex with anyone that he doesn’t want to, but I hope he comes to a place at some point where he realizes the folly of his thoughts on race.

I get really sick of the PC crowd.
If I find older short obese men unattractive, that’s my own preference.
If a female finds an older man who’s obese, but has a lot of money attractive, then that’s what she likes.
Many men openly say they hate guys who have no hair, or are too pale without a tan.
If I find younger men unattractive, that’s my preference. If I dont’ find women attractive, that’s my preference and attraction.
It’s interesting when it comes to race, all of a sudden people confuse labor laws and affirmative action, with what I find attractive. It’s none of anyone’s business whether I find something attractive or not. Sorry about it, but this means age, height, hairy, tan, sex, religion, rich or poor, stupid or smart, race, occupation, etc, etc. There’s a lot of things that go into attraction. I know many people who hate whites. I know other whites who can’t stand other whites.
It’s interesting if a white is “suspected of being racist”, they must show pictures of themselves having anal sex with a person of color to prove they aren’t racist. WTF.
