I don’t understand where all these rumors about porn star Marc Dylan and racism came from or why. But somehow those rumors had become a heated discussion on one of my blog posts, where Marc Dylan himself replied:
You’re are implying something that is not true, I value everyone equally in terms of their humanness. So you can kindly Stop with your BS insinuations. Also, let me point out your flawed logic. Whom a person finds sexually attractive is not an indicator of there feelings towards the worth of the other person. People are allowed to have a type. What you said is the equivalent of calling a gay person sexist because he wouldn’t sleep with a woman.
Today Marc speaks out on this heated topic of Racial Preferences and Sexual Addiction on his personal blog. Marc with fellow porn stars Trenton Ducati, JP Richards, Billy Santoro also discuss this issue on Twitter.

He is exactly right. I am not attracted to black guys( or haven’t been yet). That does not make me racist.
alex says
There are some black guys who are only attracted to white women. Are they racist? And really, since when does anyone have any control over whom they are attracted to. Life would have been much easeir for me if I could have just chosen to be attracted to women.
MarcoManuel says
Theres obviously some racial issues in gay porn.
Since the beginning of Falcon,Falcon had about 17 black men in their movies, maybe a bit more.Only 1 asian man.Its not a lot compared to white men.
Falcon thinks what most gay porn studios thinks.Which is,white men is what sells with gay men.It doesnt make gay men racist. But,it makes gay men superficial.
Gay men who want diversity have to watch Kristen Bjorn movies.Kristen Bjorn movies are the most diverse gay porn when it comes to races.
Kristen Bjorn used to have more black men in his older movies. Now,Kristen Bjorn mostly have east european men, southern european men and lighther latino men.
Kristen Bjorn movies from the 90s are more diverse.Kristen Bjorn movies from today are a bit less diverse.
White men and lighter latino men are the men you see the most in gay porn.Because this is what gay men often wants to see.
When it comes to latino men,gay men are into latino men who have the Ricky Martin look.Which means, latino men with european ancestors. This is what most gay men prefers.
Why do you think so much white gay porn stars are always seen with white men in gay porn?
Its most likely because they asked for white men only.
Possibly that most white gay porn stars ask for only white partners.
Iverson says
@Bruce It just means you’re unsophisticated with limited taste in men.
@Alex No, that wouldn’t be considered racism, but prejudice. There’s a difference.
As for Marc, he doesn’t really answer the question, but dances around it with the PC responses, which leads me to believe there is some truth to the rumors.
Jordy says
Unless he has met every black guy in the world and determined that he isn’t attracted to any of them, then he is racist. Making generalizations about an entire race, based on a few, is the epitome of racism. Why can’t people just be honest about their feelings.
John says
If you were a gay man marooned on an island with whatever gay men you do not find racial appealing what would you do. Answer that question honestly and then decide whether you are prejudice.
bruce says
@Iverson, how does make me unsophisticated? Because I can’t help who I’m attracted to? I’m not attracted to women either. Out of my control. Stop playing the racist card here. We are talking about sex. I don’t judge a person’s character or worth from their skin color.
ForeskinonlyPlease says
Bruce, seriously… In this kinda blog? Comical.
AJL says
I wish that people would stop resorting to the now debunked idea that preference and sexuality are the same thing. Sexuality is inherent but preference is learned. Learned behavior should be questioned and it should be challenged. You do not like women because you were born gay, you do not want to sleep with black men because you have been conditioned to that choice for some reason. There is a difference.
John says
Excellent point AJL
Jimberly says
I’m not typically attracted to black men either. I don’t rule them out altogether, but I prefer white men. Does that make me racist lol?
NS says
So if I prefer fit men over chubby ones and prefer intelligent men over dumb ones (and intelligence has quite a genetic factor, please drop this pretense that it’s all nurturing), I’m some kind of prejudiced asshole?
You gotta love sociology majors now trying to shame people into altering their sexual habits so it fits into their deconstructionist perspective of the world.
Persa says
Can someone explain to me what quality ALL BLACK MEN share that one could not be attracted to in abstract?
That is what makes it racist.
Not being attracted to a particular Black man is not racist.
Not being attracted to ANY Black man is racist.
You are LITERALLY judging an entire group of men based upon one element, they identify as Black.
So no matter what they look like, no matter how they behave, no matter what their interests are, what size they are, etc, you are already know you’re not attracted to them because they are Black. How is that NOT racist?
“Black” is not a type. It’s a skin color. And it’s not even the same skin color on every Black man. Even Black men with two Black parents can differ radically in skin color, body type, facial features, hair texture, etc.
Just like men of every other ethnicity and racial category, all Black men are not the same.
Marc Dylan isn’t required to have sex with anyone he doesn’t want to but anyone with half a brain knows that saying “I could never be attracted to any man who was Black” is racist if the reason you could never be attracted to then is because they are Black (as opposed to “tall” or “short” or “skinny” or “short-haired”, etc.
When this subject comes up, no one ever actually gets down to the basics of the issue. It’s not about personal preference, it’s about assuming that every man who is Black is exactly the same and that you can already know you aren’t attracted to them.
anderson says
Marc Dylan, tell us, would you do a sex scene with Castro Supreme?
John says
The last time I checked height, weight, intelligence etc were not races.
Iverson says
@Bruce No, not being attracted to women makes you presumably what you are, gay. If you believe in the inherent superiority of males then and only then would you be sexist. I understand the argument that you are trying to make though, but your sexuality is an innate, morally irrelevant characteristic while your preferences are learned behaviors always subject to moral scrutiny. You have a right to your preferences, but it is not correct to claim that they are “right” because you are afforded the liberty to have and exercise them. Your analogy then, which is used often as a rebuttal in discussions like these, is really a comparison of proverbial apples to oranges.
Iverson says
@Bruce Black men are men, and have dicks. Not being attracted to an entire world wide racial group based on the color of their skin is something else entirely.
Iverson says
I bet when his pornstar light begins to fizzle, he’ll suck and ride a black dick.

That is the best question. Yet no one on the “I don’t find black men attractive” or the “I don’t find Asian men attractive” bandwagon will answer the question. It’s kind of pathetic actually. I live in NYC and gay men in this city are so racially prejudice when it comes to who they find worthy. To be honest I think this ridiculous mentality is mostly a gay American thing. Though, I do see it sometimes in Europe, but not the extent found here. Euros seem to appreciate those who don’t look like them more.
I’ll be honest, this whole white preference mentality in the gay community has really made me look at other races more positively. I’m going to go find me a half black half Asian man.

I love watching big black guys dominate white guys in porn. Black cocks are usually way bigger and thicker so it’s amazing to see some white pretty boy struggle to take that big cock in his ass. It’s such a huge turn-on to me. I always thought Marc Dylan was overrated, so I don’t care that he won’t do scenes with black guys. Who cares when we have hot guys like Mitchell Rock who have no problems doing scenes with black guys? Excuse me, I am going to go jerk off while watching Mitchell Rock take a big black cock up his gorgeous ass…
marc dylan says
@Iverson well I appreciate you fortune telling skills , I have never been in need of money and most likely never will thanks to a reasonable aptitude for investing so regardless of my porn star light Ill continue to do only what I want.
@AJL I can see your point, but are suggesting all attraction is learned ? I don’t agree. Societal pressures can influence some people but that is not the basis for everyone’s preference. Lets remove the idea of race for a second. Take 5 random people and show them all a certain work of art ..some will find it atheistically pleasing others wont is that learned behavior or a natural preference. Again , I think it would be crazy not to sleep with someone I was attracted to because of race but that doesn’t mean im not allowed of have a look I prefer over others.
Just food for thought , I appreciate the discourse . Check out my twitter feed and see what others in the industry have to say. Varying opinions but all very interesting . @marc_dylan on twitter

I was hestitate about making a comment on the issue of race and racism in gay porn. We have a serious race problem in the U.S. and we need to have an open discussion on this topic. I was happy to see President Barrack Obama to speak out on the issue of race in America since the Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman verdict. As a gay black Puerto Rican male, racism is rapid in the mostly white gay community as it is in society as a whole.
Willie says
Many Asian guys will openly admit they are only attracted to Anglo-Saxon guys. Generally speaking it is only on the odd occasion I find myself sexually attracted to Asian guys. I think the issue with black men is an American thing. As for Marc Dylan only he can truly know if racism is his motivation.
The great thing about porn is that it can cater for your current mood and longer-term changes in your preferences. One issue regarding preferences is that because you can narrow right into your ideal type online it can make you fussy and disappointed when your at a gay venue.
andrew says
I’m an Irish guy but I am most strongly attracted to really tan Italian guys, the more Sicilian looking the hotter I think they are. Does that make me a self loathing Irishman?

marc dylan says
@Tony I can totally appreciate your point of view. You are correct in many ways racism is prevalent but that does not mean that every issue involving people of different races has to be judged thru that prism I think that can be equally as harmful as people who deny the existence of racism. I don’t think gay porn is exactly reflective of the true racial inequities in the world. Again just my opinion 🙂
marc dylan says
@Andrew YES ! YES it does !!! Just kidding 🙂
Tony says
I live in Washington, D.C. and I see the racism against black gay men in D.C. coming from white gay hipsters. Racism is alive and well in the USA, in the gay and straight community. Until we have an open discussion on race, race relations between blacks and whites in the USA will worsen.
Synnerman says
Racial preferences in determining what’s attractive, in broad strokes, begins when we’re young. One of the earliest studies that brought out that kind of correlation was the Clark baby doll study, and unfortunately it still happens that way. Not saying that no one can’t have their cues and turn on’s but ignoring socialization and the different social status in afforded sexual and social partners of certain extraction, heterosexual and homosexual cuts off the conversation before it really starts.
It’s not a point to get defensive about, it’s a chance to analyze how attractions work. Is it a matter of perceived behavior, status, family, media, and social pressure. Are kinks and fetishes involved? It isn’t doing a disservice to anyone to wonder why. Not everyone who is rejected is rejected because of race, but when you see pointed references in personal ads or in conversation, there seems to be a need for more conversations.
Then again, maybe too much self examination is unhealthy.
Luke says
not liking a skin colour in term of sexual attraction is totally valid. if you don’t like to have sex with muscular people, or long-haired people, what does it make you?
Tony says
I have a big crush on Jessy Ares. I’ve never seen Jessy Ares do a gay porn scene with a black or a dark skin or Afro Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Dominican. It’s my understanding, Jessy Ares is part Puerto Rican. One of the things I admired the most about Rocco Reed, he didn’t have a sexual hangup with doing gay porn with black men or women. I really admire Rocco and he’s the only porn or ex-porn star that I would want to meet in this life. I truly wish Rocco Reed well. The guy has a great smile and he appear to have a great sense of humor.
marc dylan says
@Luke – Well according to the logic of some people that would make the person a horribly bigoted individual. Im not everyone’s type in terms of physical attraction and I am perfectly fine with that . I would be offended if someone judged my worth as a person by my appearance , but I couldn’t care less if they pass up on the chance to sleep with me .
AJL says
@marc dylan: I would have to respectfully disagree with you. I am not maintaining that societal pressure alone determines our preferences. To the contrary, I believe that your taste or preferences are shaped by a number of external sources. Likewise, I do believe that with regard to taste a child enters into this world as a veritable “blank slate” and as such what they enjoy eating and who they find attractive is imputed to them by experience, conditioning, and teaching by others. You need only observe your nieces and nephew in their youth to see this. When they meet new people they look to your sister and your brother-in-law for reassurance that this person is alright to interact with, as it should be. They are learning at a very early age how to be discerning. That turns into taste and that is what forms our sense of attraction later. We are born with a drive for sex, we are born with the tools to have sex, we “learn” to be attracted.
Pierre says
@Luke. You must live in a cave since your argument doesn’t make any sense.
People of “different” skin colour can be tall, hairy, smooth, slim, short, muscular, small/big hands.
Devin says
I had a friend who worked for a very well known studio in San Francisco. No. Not Treasure Island. I’m not going to say which studio, but he told me the industry is extremely racist. Yes. He’s black, but mixed. He said 90% of the models have it in their contracts or application that they don’t want to do scenes with black men. First of all there’s hardly any black men in the industry. It’s such a non factor. I’d be more concerned about my scene partner having an STD. Please put in my contract that I will not do scenes with anyone with an STD and they must be tested the day b4, prove they are negative for all STD’s and still wear a condom. That’s the kind of stipulations I’d have in my contract lol But for some reason they are more concerned about being paired with a black man lmao
marc dylan says
@AJL I will also respectfully disagree with part of your argument , and agree that there are many nuances that come into play to determine a persons attraction. I don’t believe that people are born a blank slate in terms of attraction. Again, removing race from the issue why is it that some people find certain things atheistically pleasing while others may not . Even a young child will have a preference to certain toys, colors, textures , they have not been conditioned to appreciate certain atheistic characteristics .. they are inherent. Now , im not saying a person is born a total blank slate either , people don’t exist in a vacuum where external societal pressures have no impact.
Personally I don’t think anything bad comes out of a reasonable discussion which is why I did not avoid the question on my video blog to start with 🙂
AJL says
@NS: If you enjoy fit men over chubby men or you prefer intelligent men over unintelligent men, I would say that you are expressing your learned responses to those particular groups. I will agree with you that there is plenty of evidence that intelligence is genetic, but there is no evidence that you being attracted to someone who is intelligent is anything but learned. My comment was about the failure of some to distinguish between what are inherent characteristics and learned behavior – sexuality vs. attraction. They should not be confused.
AJL says
@Marc Dylan: It is also important to note that I do not maintain that your preferences are the result of any racial animus; I see no evidence of that in you. I simply maintain that your preferences are the result of years of conditioning.
marc dylan says
@AJL well, if im a product of years of conditioning I would be married with kids. I also have two inter racial relationships in my family , does that not contribute to my conditioning ;)?
Iverson says
@Marc Dylan Awww… still trying to justify your ignorance. Bless your heart Ms Paula Dean.
@AJL School his ignorant ass!
Tony says
@Marc; are those relationships black and white? Many Hispanics are white. What I find interesting, white America will accept light skin/white Hispanics and Asians and blacks are seen as an inferior race of people. In U.S. society today, black men are the most discriminated and President Obama mentioned, he too have been discriminated against based on his skin color and race. Many whites in the USA were taught as children, blacks are inferior and whites are superior.
Tony says
LOL@Iverson; Miss Paula is from Georgia as Marc is from Mississippi. These are 2 of the most racist states in the United States.
Synnerman says
Let’s go to the research:
That AJL is talking about is not conjecture.

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/05/13/doll.study.1947.pdf
Pretending society doesn’t shape what people consider attractive is disingenuous at best. The black hair industry, Asian plastic surgeons, cosmetics companies with skin lightening products, those are economic powerhouses built around trying to reach a particular aesthetic.
bruce says
@Marc Dylan dont let these ignorant bastards get you down. they like to place the race card any chance they get.
Iverson says
@Tony, they have so much in common. LOL!
Not Marc Dylan trying to pull the “I have a black friend, i can’t possibly be racist” card
Marc Dylan, please stop posting, your level of ignorance is alarming.
Thefan says
lets face it, racism in gay porn is very real.
ppl like Marc Dylan always dance around the issue. it’s almost comical
Synnerman says
Bruce you should look in the mirror for “ignorant bastard.”
This isn’t about the “race card” just an inability to recognize white privilege.
AJL says
@Marc Dylan: First let me say that I rather enjoy this back and forth and I agree, this matter can be very enlightening and satisfying if discussed in a civil manner, I for one appreciate your willingness to do so. Let us address your second rebuttal first. You asked why you are not married with children considering the presumably strong conditioning you received toward heterosexual monogamy. The answer is that no amount of operant conditioning could undo what God ordained. You were from birth intended to be gay and conditioning would no more make you straight and therefor suitable for heterosexual marriage than it would turn me another race. In short, your rebuttal is another reiteration of the “does me being gay make me sexist” argument. Your sexuality is an inherently, morally irrelevant characteristic and as it is an innate characteristic it is not subject to change. As for the two interracial couples in your family I can only hint at a reason why their relationships have not had a more profound impact on you. Could it be because you were far more exposed to intraracial couples? The degree and frequency with which you observed intraracial couples may contribute to your overall sense of attraction; particularly if those intraracial couples represent two people that you admire, live with, or interact with on a consistent basis. That is one guess but I would need to observe you and your family to give a better one. I simply do not subscribe to the theory that your tastes are hardwired at birth, the thought of that being true is more than a bit unnerving.
AJL says
@Marc Dylan: As to your first rebuttal concerning children and what would appear to be their inherent attraction to certain foods, toys, etc., let us first consider that children are introduced to the objects of their attraction presumably by their parents or caregivers (teacher, nanny etc.). There is never a time in a child’s life, even when they are given free reign to explore, where their parents or caregivers are not exposing them to a preferred set of stimuli or objects. A child does not know that they love the color yellow at birth, they simply see the color in the ball that their parents provide. If their parents provide them with nothing but that particular color or that color is predominate then they are actually shaping that child’s response to that color and that object. It is the same with your preference – which is a conscious behavior often motivated by unconscious cues. I for one do not believe that you were born with a preference for a type. You were born with a desire to have sex, to have sex with men, but your attraction for certain types of men was “learned” or conditioned. The same by the way is true for me so I do not claim innocence.

I think it’s okay to have race-based ‘preferences’ when it comes to sexual attraction but I also think porn actors like Mr. Dylan would be wise to STFU about them, or else they risk hurting their image and losing fans. Like Marc lost me as one of his fans since he’s talked about how unattractive he thinks I am b/c I’m Black. It’s all I can think about when I see his scenes now – it’s a complete boner-killer. And there was no reason for me to ever know this about him. I guess it’s partly my fault for reading up on him. I should know by now – the more I learn about the ‘reality’ of porn actors the more it tends to kill the fantasy they’re selling and often kills the boners I would otherwise develop watching their work. I think twitter and blogs are some of the worst things to happen to my porn-enjoyment. I’m better off not knowing these actors ‘reality’ and sticking w/the fantasy. I should probably stop reading this blog and others like it, huh? LOL
Anyway, fuck Marc Dylan and his preference and his scenes. And I say that w/’all due respect’, of course.
JayXavi says
Wow, all of this over skin colour. I think it’s a bit weird when someone says “I’m not attracted to – insert race here – men/women/people” – as no two people are the same. But who cares LOL? I’ve never been much of a fan of Marc Dylan’s work in the porn industry personally, as I’m not attracted to him physically. But I absolutely love guys like Dale Cooper and Colby Keller for example. I wouldn’t rule out or ignore anyone because of their skin colour personally – as beauty is beauty at the end of the day. And just because I tend to find myself more attracted to white guys (I’m a young black guy) doesn’t mean I’m not attracted to anyone else. Some people need to realise that just because they have the right to air their opinions, doesn’t necessarily mean they should. The gay community can get really ugly in regards to this sort of thing e.g. on dating profiles, “no blacks, Asians, fats, fems” etc. But oh well, mind your business and live your life I say.
pornobb says
There must be some inherent racial prejudice that manifest itself in preference of sexual partners.
Vabballfan says
These claims of racial prejudice and the like are total bullshit. Different people are attracted to others in different ways. Just because I am not turned on by black men does not make me a racist. That’s utter bullshit.
There is no deep seated psychological reason why I don’t have sex with black men or men with strong latin features – I am not turned on by them – period. I don’t have any malice or the like toward black men and men with strong latin features. I just don’t find them sexually attractive – plain and simple.
Just like if I had two men standing next to one another – equally handsome, equally hung, equally versatile and equally built – if one is a smooth blonde blue eyed hunk and one was a hairy chested blond blue eyed hunk I’d be more turned on by the hairy chested stud. Just like I’d pick a hairy blonde over a hairy brunette. A hairy chested blonde turns me on the most – that’s my “type”. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t fuck the smooth blonde – I’ve fucked many a smooth blonde, many a hairy chested brunette and many a smooth brunette – and yes, gingers too.
I take offense to the fact that I would be considered racist just because I won’t sleep with black men or men with men with strongly latin features. I also wouldn’t sleep with an overbuilt bodybuilder, a man that removes every visible hair from his body or a man that feels he has to have tattoos all over his body. Sorry, those things turn me off.
Saying that I am a racist or Marc Dylan is a racist is absurd and a way of slanting psychoanalysis to try to justify one’s opinion.
Topper35 says
Bitches, calm down, we all have “a type”, just most of us have the balls to admit it. And before anyone jumps on me, I found the two african/american men i have been with absolutely stunning. I do not however fancy every black man under the sun, nor am i attracted to every white man. Well done Mrac Dylan for standing up for yourself. Peace.
Harris Taylor says
I like all types of men.
I like athletic types, with toned bodies, with muscles and an average dick.
Handsome face, nice chest, nice glutes.
If they are Asian, black, white, whatever, I don’t mind.
What I don’t like are drug users, smokers, habitual liars, lazy gay men. These are choices gay people make. Skin colour is not a choice. Too many tattoos is a no no. Gay men who ruin their bodies constantly is a definite no.
I am white but I would go for white guys. If I like a black guy, I will go for him. If I like a Chinese guy, I will go for him. It is not set in stone. However being around white people they would be my type.
