I’m an RN so I have some clout on the topic so I’ll say this: I’m glad they’re using a condom, as that is an effective means of HIV protection. That being said, oral sex can still transmit HIV especially if there is an opening or a sore or they have freshly brushed their teeth. Second, even if Jesse were HIV+ as well, they should STILL use condoms as Jesse would have a different mutation of the virus than Mason due to it being in his body and mutating to adjust individually to HIS body. Unless they’re both on the same exact medication regimen (and even then, it’s a little iffy), this predisposes them to drug-resistant strains of HIV. While bareback sex certainly may feel better, the public health risks far outweigh minutes or even hours of pleasure.
